Blake Shelton Announces 2019 Tour With Bellamy Brothers, Lauren Alaina, Trace Adkins, John Anderson
Blake Shelton revealed his 2019 live tour plans, dubbed the Friends and Heroes Tour, because it includes both. He's recruited openers the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, Trace Adkins and Lauren Alaina to join him in the fun, and created a (surprise, surprise) sarcastically funny video for the big announcement.
In the clip, which fans can watch above, Shelton is shown at a bar grousing to a familiar-looking bartender (Alaina) that he has to put a tour together but can't decide "who in the hell" he wants to take out with him.
From there, things become increasingly hilarious, as Shelton begins to muse about his favorite artists to the largely youthful crowd at the various bars and honky-tonks he visits that evening. After discussing his love of John Anderson to a bewildered millennial ("Is he new?") he's ultimately tasked with snapping a photo of the guy's beer for social media.
And, while performing at a live show, Shelton is relieved to see a cute young girl wearing a Bellamy Brothers T-shirt ... until she coolly tells him she just lifted it from her dad's closet.
Things seem to be looking up for Shelton when, later, he's in a bar drinking a brew with an elderly gentleman and "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" comes on the jukebox. Shelton expresses his love for Trace Adkins, which his drinking buddy agrees with. When Shelton then reveals he's actually good friends with Adkins, the gentleman scoffs in disbelief and says "Yeah, right, he's a friend of mine too," and gives Shelton a condescending pat on the back.
In the end? Alaina sagely tells Shelton, "If you ask me it sounds like you know exactly who you want to take on tour ... why don't you take your heroes and friends? And while you're at it, why don't you take me too?"
He'll be doing just that.
The tour kicks off Feb. 14 in Oklahoma City, Okla. and current announced dates are running through March. Fans looking to get an early in on tickets can sign up to the Team BS fan club at BlakeShelton.com by 11:59pm CT on 11/1, in order to get access to the fan club presale on 11/2.
