Blake Shelton says his relationship with wife Gwen Stefani has strengthened his own faith.

During an in-depth interview at the 2022 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, The 45-year-old country star gave rare insight into how her deep spirituality has made a lasting impact on him, both personally and creatively.

"I think that under the circumstances that Gwen and I fell in love with each other and got together was all the proof I needed," Shelton explained. "She has such a strong faith in God. That’s No. 1 in her life and has been her whole life. She doesn’t beat you over the head with it — she would never do that. That’s her relationship."

Shelton and Stefani met and became friends while serving as judges on NBC's reality competition The Voice. Although they didn't know it at the time, their meeting came at a pivotal moment. Just over a year later, Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced they were divorcing after four years of marriage. The following month, Stefani ended her 13-year-long marriage with rock singer Gavin Rossdale.

The two have been open about how they supported each other through their respective heartbreaks, leading to an unexpected romance. After a few years of dating and multiple musical collaborations, the happy couple wed on July 3, 2021 in a small, intimate ceremony at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch.

"I’ve learned a lot from Gwen about a lot of things, really just watching her, learning from her and learning how she thinks and how she treats people, and how she just operates in her life,” Shelton notes. "Naturally I start seeing the God in everything, because she does. Of course, that starts bleeding into my records and my music, and next thing you know, I'm recording songs and writing songs about faith and God."

With the success of recent hits like "God's Country" and "Happy Anywhere," it seems like Stefani's influence has only helped to make Shelton's career even bigger and better than before.
