Kelly Clarkson is headed to Season 14 of The Voice as a coach, and Blake Shelton has a lot to say about it. During a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shelton admits he's nervous about Clarkson's upcoming role on the reality singing competition, because she's such a chatterbox.

"I used to think that Miley Cyrus would be the person that talks the most ever in the history of this show," Shelton admits. "Now that they brought in Kelly Clarkson. Oh. My. God. Thank God they're at least on different seasons because my ears would fall off of my head. There would be no oxygen left in the room. Neither one of them could stop talking."

Always the funny man, Shelton must not have gotten a chance to read the press release announcement of Clarkson joining the show and her obvious threat to the country singer.

“I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC,” Clarkson says. “I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry. Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!!”

While Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani's time on the show is coming to a close for now, Shelton is confident that the two artists will return at a later season as coaches. Meanwhile, he gushes about what it's like walking the red carpet at an awards show with his girlfriend, Stefani.

"At some point it builds your ego up to walk into a room with Gwen," he says. "Also, it's a crashing blow to your ego and you realize all the cheers and people shouting, you realize it's not you. It's her. It's exciting at the same time being in the vicinity of her is unbelievable."
