As if you needed another reason to grab a bag of chips and tune into the Super Bowl, it was just announced that country music's hottest couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will be opening up the big game with a duet performance, making the game of the year even more worthwhile for country music fans.

The AP reports that the Sheltons will deliver a joint number in the form of 'America the Beautiful' during the pregame festivities in Indianapolis, which the 'Honey Bee' hitmaker then confirmed via Twitter.

It seems that the singing pair are using their celeb status in the music industry to spin new webs as of late. Earlier this week, it was announced that Lambert will appear on a new episode of 'Law and Order: SVU' this season, which airs on NBC. The Super Bowl will be featured on the network as well -- and it's certainly no coincidence that Shelton will help launch a new season of 'The Voice' on the same channel immediately following the game.

Super Bowl XLVI kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 5.
