Miranda Lambert to Appear on ‘Law and Order: SVU’
Miranda Lambert: country music icon, total spitfire, and now, budding actress! The 'Baggage Claim' hitmaker will make her acting debut on an upcoming episode of 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,' according to TVGuide.com.
While the singer is very much comfortable in her own skin, she will be forced to step out of her comfort zone for her role on the hit NBC show. Lambert will portray not a country artist, but an actress who has been sexually assaulted by the skeezy producer of a reality television show. That part will be played by Michael McKean.
Lambert's episode will also feature esteemed actor Harry Connick Jr., who will appear as the new love interest of Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay), though even with the bar set high we're sure country's blonde bombshell will knock it out of the park.
'Law and Order: SVU' runs new episodes on NBC on Wednesday nights, though Lambert's slot has not yet been given an air date. This opportunity will give the singer a chance to strut her stuff for the network while her husband, Blake Shelton, is hard at work on 'The Voice.' Who knows, it could even be the beginning of an acting career!
