Bunnie Xo has a lot going on these days, and she's making it pretty clear that life after Jelly Roll has taken her in an unexpected direction.

The Dumb Blonde podcast host recently appeared on TODAY, where Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones asked how she's doing several months after her divorce from Jelly Roll.

Her answer was about as enthusiastic as it gets.

Ladies, they should have never let me back out in the streets because I love it here. I love it here, and I'm never going back.

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, officially finalized their divorce on July 17 after 10 years of marriage.

While the split brought an end to their relationship, Bunnie Xo says it has also pushed her to put more energy into herself and everything she wants to accomplish.

Putting Herself First

Bunnie Xo said one of the biggest lessons she's taken from the experience is that women often put their own needs last.

"I feel like us as women, we put ourselves aside so much for partners, friends, kids, and it's like we don't pour into ourselves," she said. "And sometimes you need to be selfish, and you need to pour into yourself."

She hopes being open about her own journey can remind other women that difficult seasons don't have to define what comes next.

I just hope my journey can show people like, 'Hey, you know what? It doesn't matter how hard of a situation you're going through, you're going to get through that. You're going to rise up, and you're going to be an even better version of yourself.'

Going Back to School

One of the biggest things on Bunnie Xo's plate is a return to college. She revealed that she was accepted into Arizona State University, where she'll study how women's hormones are affected by IVF — a subject that's especially personal to her.

That's just one of several things she's working on. Bunnie Xo also has a book, a movie, and a new deal with Audacy in the works.

She said those opportunities have helped her look at the divorce differently.

I know when something like that, that's deeply personal, happens, it's beautifully tragic, but at the same time there's always a silver lining, and there's always something better to look forward to.

Bunnie Xo also wants the conversation around her to move beyond her relationships.

Then she offered perhaps the clearest indication yet of how she feels about where life has taken her.
