Carrie Underwood is slated to make a big announcement this week. The singer has scheduled a Facebook chat with her friends for Thursday afternoon (Aug. 20).

There's no confirmation on what news will be disclosed, but we have our fingers crossed that this means a new album is on its way from the "Little Toy Guns" hitmaker. It seems likely — after all, it has been almost three years since Underwood has released a new album, the last being 2012's Blown Away. That project earned RIAA platinum certification and produced four chart-topping singles.

The country superstar will log onto Facebook to make her announcement at 5PM ET and then take questions directly from her fans. Following the social media 'press conference,' Underwood will appear on a segment of the August 20 episode of the syndicated Entertainment Tonight, airing at 7:30PM ET.

Underwood has been teasing us with hints of new music coming our way on social media the past few months. She told Country Countdown USA  in June that she has been working on a new album that will feature a different sound from the 32-year-old.

"I want everything to have its own space and look different, sound different, feel different. So I’ve been working with another producer, as well as with Mark Bright," Underwood dished. "We’re off to more than a great start. We’ve been recording, I’ve been in the studio, I’ve laid vocals down, background vocals, [and] there’s still a few steps to go, but it shouldn’t be too long."

And now that she's a mom, expect Underwood's new album to include a song about her baby boy, Isaiah, who was born in February. As she told Taste of Country Nights in June: “I’d be very willing to put money that it will be on there."
