Carrie Underwood Announces First Overseas Headlining Tour
Carrie Underwood is going global! With the release of her fourth studio album, 'Blown Away,' the country superstar has announced a string of concert dates in the United Kingdom and Australia. The just-announced Blown Away Tour dates will be the first headlining venture overseas for the 'Good Girl' singer.
“It’s been a long time coming to head over to London to perform for my UK fans…I’m so excited to play there in June,” Underwood admits in a press release. “It’s the home of some of my musical influences. I’m a huge fan of George Michael, Annie Lennox, the Rolling Stones, and of course, Adele. I want to do that tradition proud. There are so many great British artists doing well in the US at the moment; I want to show the UK another side of America.”
Sponsored by Olay beauty products, the international tour is set to commence on June 21 with a sold-out show at London's iconic Royal Albert Hall and will continue with four dates in Australia through the beginning of July. The singer will then return to North America to complete the 54-date fall leg of the tour with fellow country star Hunter Hayes as opening entertainment. Underwood's stateside fans can purchase tickets here beginning May 11.
Already available in the states, 'Blown Away' will be released on May 4 in Australia, with a special UK edition available on June 18. Underwood has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide since being crowned the Season 4 'American Idol' winner in 2005.
