The uncle of a 1923 actor claims his nephew was not 'on the run' prior to being found dead in Kansas on April 5.

Cole Brings Plenty, who played Pete Plenty Clouds on 1923, was first reported missing on April 2 after being named a suspect in a domestic violence investigation.

1923 is a prequel to the popular show Yellowstone.

According to the Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff's Office, the 27-year-old actor's body was found in a wooded area just before noon on April 5. Deputies discovered Brings Plenty's body after responding to a report of an unoccupied vehicle.

A cause of death has not be reported. The sheriff's office says the incident is still under investigation.

In the days leading up to police discovering Brings Plenty's body, his family continued to stress that the public should not assume he was running from police following the alleged domestic violence incident.

Mo Brings Plenty, who played a character by the same name on the Yellowstone, shared multiple posts about Cole's disappearance on Instagram last week.

"It has been suggested that Cole is on the run, but there is no evidence to support this claim, and we urge everyone to refrain from making unfounded speculations," Mo wrote in one of the posts.

He doubled-down on that statement with a second post later that same day, in which he thanked those helping search for Cole, but also stressed that his nephew would not be "on the run."

"It is not in his character despite what people think or say," Mo said. "It isn't worth it and he would know that."

KCTV in Kansas City, Mo., reported that the Lawrence Police Department had intensified its search for Cole last Thursday when they started using a drone to search parts of the city.

The TV station said the search began after a 911 call was placed concerning reports of a woman heard screaming in a Lawrence apartment on March 31.

Cole's father released a statement on his son's death via Mo's Instagram on Friday saying, "I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole's heart and loved him."
