Colt Ford is gearing up for a very special concert to be held in his hometown of Athens, Ga. next month, benefiting two police officers, one of which lost his life, in the line of duty. The Colt Ford and Friends benefit concert will take place at the Georgia Theater on Tuesday, August 16.

Ford, who has many friends in the country music industry, is bringing along a few of his singing pals, including Jason Aldean, James Otto, Rhett Akins, songwriter Dallas Davidson, Mike Dekel, Edwin McCain and more to help raise money for the late officers' families.

Ford found out about the shootings of Senior Police Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian and Senior Police Officer Tony Howard back in March when he returned home from touring. Ford, who is known for his heart of gold, decided to help the officers' families by throwing the concert and silent auction in their names.

"I’ve known Tony for over 25 years, and both he and Buddy are and were pillars in this community, and I can’t stand by and not do something for their families during this difficult time due to such a brutal offense," says Ford in a press release. "I want to raise as much money as we can through the auction, performances, and donation links, so I can’t thank my friends enough for joining together with me for this great cause."

The Georgia Theater is located at 215 North Lumpkin St. in Athens, Ga. The show will begin at 7:30PM. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 22, at 10:00AM ET. General admission tickets are $50.00 and VIP tickets (consisting of premier seating, early admission and a pre-show cocktail reception) are $150.00. Tickets will be available for purchase online here.
