'The Voice' is down to the Top 12, but there's really just one country artist left. Craig Wayne Boyd -- a Team Blake Shelton hopeful -- wowed again Monday night (Nov. 17) with another top-notch cover.

This week, he aimed high and tackled a George Strait classic, 'You Look So Good in Love.' Before the Southern rock singer started to practice, Shelton shared that his mom had texted her approval of Boyd. She's apparently a pretty big fan of 'The Voice' contestant and thinks everyone else should be, too.

Boyd and Shelton also talked about the star's wife Miranda Lambert, with Boyd admitting his band had opened for her once -- many moons ago. Boyd made it known that he's been struggling since moving to Nashville, but he won't let that stop him.

“Making it this far and being with Blake makes all of those struggles worth it,” he says.

Shelton gave Boyd a few words of advice before he hit 'The Voice' stage for the live performance, telling him to hold on to all heartthrob aspects of the song and have faith in his voice to make it to the Top 10.

Boyd dressed up for his Strait rendition, and like his coach advised, opened the number by singing intimately to one crowd member. Before his last few notes, he took a dramatic pause, really letting the emotions flow through the room. His plan worked -- both Shelton and Pharrell Williams stood at the song's finale.

"Gosh I'm so excited right now," Shelton told Boyd him after the performance. “Every time you get on this stage you show a different side of who you are and you take it to the next level, and that’s the mark of a star, dude. Congratulations."
