Watch ‘The Voice’ Alum Emily Ann Roberts Sing Country Faves Through the Years
Emily Ann Roberts won over fans and coach Blake Shelton on Season 9 of The Voice with her flawless, youthful vocals and a throwback flair — which is exactly what she brings in this compilation video, which she shared on social media.
The singer put together a medley of her favorite country songs through the years, beginning with the Loretta Lynn classic “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man)” and ending with Lauren Alaina’s recent hit “Road Less Traveled.”
Roberts sits on a stool for the stripped-down acoustic medley, hitting highlights like Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” Reba McEntire’s “Fancy” and even Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It,” performing each one confidently and without even the slightest pitchy note.
The Best Country Songs of the Millennium
The adorable 18-year-old became known for her bubbly personality and positive outlook during her time on The Voice, which certainly comes through in this video. The up-and-comer just shared a new original song on her Facebook page titled “That Guy,” a catchy tune dedicated to a guy who let her get away. Roberts explains that she’s happy with the guy she has now, thank you very much (Sorry, not sorry!). The sassy, but charming song is a perfect representation of Roberts and hopefully indicative of more original music to come.
According to the page, Roberts just finished recording new music in June and has been playing a few shows here and there, including an appearance at CMA Fest.
