The wait is over for Garth Brooks fans in New York. The singer revealed Wednesday (May 11) that he will be returning to the Big Apple for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood will return to New York City this summer. On July 9, a Saturday, Brooks and his wife will perform at Yankee Stadium starting at 8:30PM.

According to a press release, the last time Brooks played New York City was for his famous Central Park concert where almost a million people showed up. Brooks' upcoming concert also marks the first country music event at the current Yankee Stadium.

Tickets for the show will go on sale May 20 at 10AM ET. There will be an eight ticket limit per purchase. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.comticketmaster.com/garthbrooks or by phone. Tickets for Brooks' New York date will cost $79.98.

In 2014, Brooks released Man Against Machine. His first new studio album in 13 years, Man Against Machine has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. Brooks is currently working on a follow-up to the release and plans to involve fans throughout the entire album making process.

“We’re gonna make a big move here in a just a little bit with Facebook,” Brooks says in a video message to fans. “We’re gonna bring everybody in on the new album.”

He and his wife, Yearwood, are currently finishing up their Christmas record. When finished with their long awaited holiday album, he plans to turn his attention to a new solo project.

“We’re gonna bring you in on making this album … songwriting sessions, everything from recording,” Brooks tells fans. “It’s gonna be a blast.”
