It's right back to work for Gary Allan and his loyal fans. After edging out George Strait's new single 'I Believe' earlier this week, 'It Ain't the Whiskey' will spend the weekend battling 'Peace Sign,' the first single in three years from Jo Dee Messina. With two more wins, Allan will have yet another song in the Showdown Hall of Fame.

Fans helped Messina choose 'Peace Sign' as the lead single from her upcoming album, so Allan's fans can expect a fight. The uptempo track is the type of single the red-haired singer became known for during the 2000s. It's loaded with personality and more than a pinch of feistiness.

Listen to clips of both Allan's and Messina's songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Monday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Monday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
