Since breaking onto the country music scene in early 2010, Josh Thompson has been fortunate enough to get involved with many high profile tours, including the Jagermeister Tour (first year with Eric Church and this year with Dierks Bentley and Miss Willie Brown), Hank Williams, Jr.'s Rowdy Friends tour, and Brad Paisley's H2O Tour. Well this year, Thompson is keeping the good times rolling as he announces he will join Luke Bryan and Lee Brice for 2011's CMT on Tour this fall.

"I’m very lucky to have gotten on the tours that I’ve been on," Thompson tells Taste of Country. "I never have toured with Luke before, and the CMT tour … that’s a big deal! It’s great because not only are you out playing wherever you’re playing for those people, but I think every night is also taped and documented for CMT exposure, so you reach more people. I’ve been very fortunate with every tour I’ve been on, and Luke will be a real great match up. It’s just another one of those things that seems to be perfect."

CMT on Tour: Luke Bryan Tailgates & Tanlines is set to kick off in September with approximately 25 shows to support Bryan’s third studio album for Capitol Records Nashville, 'Tailgates and Tanlines,' due in stores on August 9. Bryan's current single, 'Country Girl (Shake It for Me),' is the first release from the forthcoming project and has become his fastest rising single to date, already reaching the Top 15.

"It’s all about having fun onstage with the band and giving our fans a night of entertainment," says Bryan. "I certainly am following in good footsteps of the other artists who have had the opportunity to headline a CMT Tour.  I’m really anxious to get started!"

Stay tuned to CMT's website for dates and cities where the tour will be stopping.
