Keith Urban is feeling a sense of "overwhelming gratitude" after earning five nominations in the 2017 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year.

Urban was one of the most-nominated artists in country music when the 2017 CMA Awards nominations were revealed Monday (Sept. 4), earning nods for Male Vocalist, Song, Single, Music Video and Entertainer of the Year. He shared his reaction to the news in an email via his publicist:

6:50 Wake Up
7:10 Brew wicked batch of coffee
7:12 Turn on phone
7:13 Hit with flurry of CMA nomination texts
7:14 Suddenly couldn’t care less about coffee

Urban scored one of the biggest hits of his entire career with "Blue Ain't Your Color," the fourth single from his ninth studio album, Ripcord. The song is up for Single of the Year at the CMA Awards, and it also earned its writers Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey and Clint Lagerberg, nominations for Song of the Year.

The nominations cap off a stellar run for "Blue Ain't Your Color, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and also received two Grammy nominations at the 59th Grammy Awards, for Best Country Solo Performance for Urban and Best Country Song for its songwriters.

Urban was also tremendously successful on the road on his Ripcord World Tour, featuring Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris as his supports acts. The overall success of the tour and the Ripcord album — which has launched five hit singles — no doubt helped him earn another nomination as Entertainer of the Year.
