Keith Urban was awarded the Choice Music: Male Country Artist award Sunday night at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Urban wasn't on hand to accept the award, and in fact, the honor wasn't even announced until it was quietly listed on Monday morning.

Other country men nominated for the award included Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley. None of the five were at the awards show; in fact, country music's only representative was Taylor Swift, who nearly swept the awards she was nominated for. She went five for six, only failing to collect a surfboard trophy for Choice Music: Love Song, and also took home the Ultimate Choice award.

Urban has yet to comment on the win through his Facebook or Twitter pages, though he was actively campaigning for votes during the week leading up to the telecast. Lady Antebellum were the only other country winners, picking up the award for Choice Music: Country Group.
