Keith Urban Joins Foy Vance for ‘Burden’ at 2019 Americanafest in Nashville [Watch]
Foy Vance had a big surprise up his sleeve for fans who attended his set at the 2019 Americana Music Festival in Nashville on Friday night (Sept. 13). The Boot reports that the Irish singer brought Keith Urban to the stage to join him on a surprise joint rendition of Vance's song "Burden."
Vance performed a set at the Cannery Ballroom, and in the kind of only-in-Nashville moment that happens frequently in Music City, he introduced the country superstar to the crowd unexpectedly. Urban played guitar and Vance handled keys for an extended jam on "Burden" that lasted seven minutes. Click the fan-shot video above to watch the performance.
"Burden" originally appeared on Vance's The Wild Swan album in 2016. Urban previously covered the song at the 2019 ACM Awards before releasing a studio cover version the following day.
He and Vance shared a humorous clip of themselves jamming on the song in the studio in May, and Vance told the audience on Friday that he and Urban have become inseparable.
“I didn’t know I needed this guy in my life until I met him. And now that I met him, I can’t f--kin’ do without him," he said in introducing his friend.
AmericanaFest 2019 kicked off on Tuesday (Sept. 10), and it runs through Sunday (Sept. 15). The slate of events includes parties, showcases and panels taking place at more than 50 venues around Nashville and culminating in the annual Americana Honors & Awards ceremony.
