Kid Rock’s Frantic 911 Call Released [Listen]
Kid Rock frantically begs for an ambulance during a Monday morning (April 25) 911 call to police. The singer becomes animated when asked for more detail by the dispatcher. Eventually, a female gets on the phone and explains the circumstances around Michael Sacha’s death.
Sacha was killed early Monday morning after an apparent ATV accident. The 30-year-old had reportedly been driving guests to the front gate of Kid Rock's Nashville home to be picked up by Uber. According to the Tennessean, he was last seen alive around 12AM on Monday. Kid Rock (real name Robert Ritchie) placed the phone call at 11:32AM Monday morning, the newspaper reports in a separate story.
The unidentified female is hesitant to go near the body, but is able to describe the scene. In the call she says she and the singer were preparing to go to the airport when they discovered Sacha was not in the house. “It’s just not like him to not be up early,” she says.
“He’s off to the side of the driveway and we have an ATV and we heard the engine running. It’s in the trees and it’s still running,” she says before describing the man's significant head injury.
Paramedics and police responded. Rock labeled the incident an ATV accident on his website, calling Sacha "one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with."
Rock planned to stay with Sacha’s body until he could bring him home to family. All parties were attending a cookout at his Whites Creek estate on Sunday night.
Kid Rock is scheduled to headline at the Taste of Country Music Festival, WE Fest and Country on the River this summer and will also join Jason Aldean at his sold-out show at Fenway Park in Boston in September.
