Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now' beat out fellow country music superstars The Band Perry and Taylor Swift, to name a few, for the 2011 Billboard Music Award for Country Song of the Year.

The band (and the song, which is the title track of their second album) cleaned up at this year's Grammys, so this award was pretty much a lock for Lady A. The song is so powerful and transcendent that it was a pop radio crossover, as well.

'Need You Now' is also the most downloaded country song of all time, making it one of the most successful and well known songs of the digital (and modern) age.

The Lady Antebellum band members offered a quick acceptance speech, thanking their fans, Billboard Magazine and all the radio stations who played the song and elevated it to the status of a musical and cultural event.

Congrats to Lady A on taking this award. Meanwhile, the band's new single, 'Just a Kiss,' is currently breaking records at radio and is just a taste of what's to come on the band's forthcoming third album.
