Lady Antebellum Make Their SXSW Debut [Watch]
Lady Antebellum recently made their SXSW debut as part of the CMA Songwriter Series, held at Austin City Limits Live at Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, on March 16.
It’s hard to believe it’s the first performance by Lady A — made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood — at the renowned event, but the trio made it count by serving a preview of their upcoming album, Heart Break, and former hits, such as their multiplatinum country smash “Need You Now," as seen above.
Lady Antebellum shared the stage with two of Nashville’s most sought after songwriters: Nicole Galyon and Mike Busbee, each on keyboards. Galyon, who co-wrote Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic,” performed the song and shared stories about the creation of the tune, while Busbee did the same for some of his co-written hits, which include “H.O.L.Y.” by Florida Georgia Line, “My Church” by Maren Morris and “Try” by Pink. Busbee also produced Lady Antebellum’s new Heart Break album, out in June.
Highlights of the evening also included the five musicians performing the forthcoming Lady Antebellum song “Army” — a song they wrote together — and the latest single “You Look Good," penned by Busbee, Hillary Lindsey and Ryan Hurd. "You Look Good" is currently in the Top 25 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
