Luke Bryan’s Mom’s House ‘Severely Damaged’ by Hurricane Michael
Luke Bryan's mother's house was not saved from Hurricane Michael, a Category 4 hurricane that hit the Florida panhandle on Oct. 10.
Photos (below) show LeClaire Bryan walking in rubble and ruined possessions outside of her Mexico Beach, Fla., home as well as inside. Captions beneath the Getty images allege that her home was "severely damaged" by the storm.
The pictures were taken on Friday (Oct. 19).
In one, LeClaire Bryan appears to be overwhelmed by the destruction and is comforted by a man identified as James Whiddon. The storm caused widespread damage throughout the area and took more than 30 lives.
Bryan asked for prayers for the area in a tweet on Oct. 10. "Pray for my people," he said. "So many dear people I know are being affected. My mother and so many friends live in Mexico Beach." The country star hasn't updated fans on how LeClaire's home was affected in the nine days since.
Taste of Country has reached out to representatives of the singer's for more detail and comment.
Bryan has the weekend off from touring, according to the tour schedule at his website. The What Makes You Country Tour has two dates remaining in Michigan and New York next weekend. The singer and 2018 CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee just released "What Makes You Country" as the latest single from an album of the same name.
