Luke Combs took the stage at the 2019 CMA Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night (Nov. 13), giving a rowdy performance of his massive hit, "Beer Never Broke My Heart."

Fresh off his win for Song of the Year for "Beautiful, Crazy," the North Carolina native stepped on the stage once again in an all black, casual ensemble paired with a baseball cap to deliver the song to an eager audience ready to get up and party a bit. And yes, there seemed to be a bit more growl in his voice on this special night.

At the conclusion of the performance, Combs barely cracked a smile. But as if on cue, the camera then quickly panned to Combs' fiancee Nicole Hocking, who couldn't hold back her pride in her burly, bearded man.

Combs released "Beer Never Broke My Heart" in May of 2019, and the song rocketed to No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. The energetic party anthem was the lead single from Combs' second studio album, What You See Is What You Get, which he released on Nov. 8. The album's second single, "Even Though I'm Leaving," is currently at country radio.

What You See Is What You Get serves as the followup to his massively successful This One's For You project, which scored Combs No. 1 hits in "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," "One Number Away," "She Got the Best of Me" and "Beautiful Crazy."

Combs went into the night as a multiple CMA nominee in 2019. He was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year for "Beautiful Crazy" and Musical Event of the Year alongside Brooks & Dunn for their collaboration on a new recording of "Brand New Man."
