Michael Ray Makes Late-Night Debut With ‘One That Got Away’ [Watch]
Michael Ray crossed another dream off his career bucket list on Monday (July 16) when the Florida native made his late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
He's currently celebrating the release of his new album, Amos, and sang his new single “One That Got Away” to an enthusiastic studio crowd.
To Know Michael Ray, You Must Know Amos
“Growing up in South Florida, there were those summer grooves that just felt anthemic,” shares Ray, who previously charted hits with singles "Kiss You in the Morning" and “Think a Little Less." "On this album, for me, that song is ‘One That Got Away.’ The songwriters — Jesse Frasure, Trevor Rosen, Matt Ramsey and Josh Osborne — really knocked it out of the park with this jam. Taking it to the late-night television audience seems like the perfect stage as we celebrate the second single from this album."
Ray will also be taking his music to fair and festival crowds across the country for the remainder of the summer before heading out on the road with Old Dominion as part of their Happy Endings World Tour.
Undoubtedly these career milestones would delight Ray's late grandfather, Amos, who died in 2015 but inspired the album.
"(My grandfather’s) passion for music was like no other," Ray says in an interview with Taste of Country earlier this year. "He was the guy that taught me the importance of the Grand Ole Opry, what that stage and what that circle really means."
