Miranda Lambert and Her Husband Really, Truly Fight (About Driving)
It's been a well-documented, blissful five-plus years of marriage for Miranda Lambert and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
You won't typically see one without the other, because they go everywhere together and are always captured in photos smiling, hand in hand. The country star regularly has complimentary things to say about her hubby ... well, mostly.
Lambert stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio, where she spilled some tea about her love life with Brendan: They actually do fight sometimes.
In a new interview for the Taste of Country Nights: On Demand podcast, Lambert admits that driving with her husband — who's an ex-NYPD officer — isn't always fun.
"Oh, God. We just ... can't. It's just like, can any couples be in the car together?" she shares.
Turns out, McLoughlin drives, well, like an ex-police officer.
"He drives like a cop in New York City, and we're just, like, in Green Hills, in Nashville," Lambert dishes. "I'm like, 'What are we doing?'"
The "Wranglers" singer is practically surprised he doesn't ticket her.
"He's like, judging my parking, and it's so stressful," she says of when she's behind the wheel. A story about towing their Airstream trailer comes to mind for her.
"Two summers ago, I took all of July off, and we went to like, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah," Lambert recalls.
"When we first got the trailer, he had never driven a trailer. He's from the city. So I drove for, like, the first six months we had the trailer."
"Then, he started driving, and he's really good at it," she says, adding with a laugh. "So we fought less ... but I still judge him."
Lambert just released a new album this month. Postcards From Texas is her first project since leaving her record label home of more than 20 years. "Wranglers" is the lead single.
