Miranda Lambert Has ‘Something Else Up My Sleeve’ Besides Her New Song
Miranda Lambert is set to release a new song, but she's hinting that she also has something else to announce to her fans this week.
Lambert is set to release her new single, "It All Comes Out in the Wash," on Thursday morning (July 18). The country superstar turned to social media on Monday evening (July 15) to tease fans about something else she has in the works.
"In case y’all missed the news, I’ve got a new song 'It All Comes Out in the Wash' premiering this Thursday at 6am ET! And...I just may have something else up my sleeve for y’all that day too," Lambert writes to accompany a photo of herself sipping out of a plastic bottle through a straw.
She follows that with a wink emoji, adding, "Stay tuned."
What Inspired Miranda Lambert's New Single?
It's been a busy period for Lambert, who surprised fans by performing a new song titled "Locomotive" during the 2019 CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June. The song is reminiscent of the raw energy of early hits including "Kerosene," but juxtaposed with a more mature lyrical perspective. Lambert recently revealed that she had handed in her upcoming album to her record label and was hopeful it would be available in the fall. She worked with edgy producer Jay Joyce on the project, which she says gave the new music a different feel.
The singer-songwriter tells Rolling Stone Country the new music has a "rock vibe in a recent interview, saying she is eager for fans to hear what she's been working on.
"After you sit on a record for a while you get this energy," she states. "You’ve been writing and recording and it has this energy and you just are ready for the world to hear it."
Lambert stunned fans and the country music industry when she revealed in February that she had married New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin in January. She joked in a recent interview with Chicago radio station US99 that she would never be allowed to have a long break again, "because I get married and do weird s--t."
Lambert will also hit the road later this year for her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour. That tour kicks off on Sept. 1 and features Pistol Annies, Elle King, Ashley McBryde, Caylee Hammack, Maren Morris and Tenille Townes.
