Miranda Lambert Teases New Song, Tells Fans to ‘Stay Tuned’ [Listen]
Miranda Lambert is teasing fans about something big that's coming on Thursday (Aug. 15) — but, what is it?
The country superstar turned to Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 14) to share a snippet of a new song, accompanying the sound clip with a cryptic post that simply reads, "Stay tuned ... tomorrow."
The clip of the new song reveals yet another facet of Lambert's upcoming new studio album, featuring a mid-tempo groove and a lyric that says, "And if the house just keeps on winning / I've got a wild card up my sleeve."
It's not clear what Lambert will be announcing on Thursday, but the award-winning singer-songwriter recently confirmed that she has completed her new album and turned it in to her label, and she's hoping for a fall release.
Fans have already gotten to hear three songs from the forthcoming project, the details of which Lambert has not yet released. She debuted a new song titled "Locomotive" at CMA Fest in June. The punk-inflected, high-energy track is reminiscent of some of her fiery earlier songs, but written from a more mature point of view.
Lambert has also released the album's lead radio single, "It All Come Out in the Wash," and a studio version of "Locomotive," as well as a New-Wave-influenced song called "Mess With My Head" that's very different from any of her previous material.
Lambert will hit the road to begin her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour on Sept. 1.
