Earlier this year, electronic DJ/producer Diplo, announced a country side project under his birth name, Thomas Wesley. Wesley's latest country work is a collaboration with Morgan Wallen on his second release in the genre, "Heartless," which dropped for fans to hear on midnight Friday (Aug. 16).

"But why you gotta be so heartless / I know you think it's harmless / You're tearing me apart and / Girl, the hardest part is / You're so high on attention / You're taking miles for inches / Leave me in the darkness / Never finish what we started / Girl, why you gotta be so heartless /Why you gotta be so heartless," Wallen sings in the chorus.

The new release features elements of both electronic and country music. The lyrics paint a picture of a tumultuous relationship, with the other person not fully committing. Wallen is the only singer on the track, with Wesley committed to producing and creating the beats.

Wesley previously released "So Long" featuring Cam, which he debuted at this year's Stagecoach festival. His appearance there marked his first country show as "Thomas Wesley."

Besides his country-leaning projects, Wesley is in supergroup Major Lazer, 1/3 of LSD (with Sia and Labrinth) and Silk City (with producer Mark Ronson). Aside from his projects, he also works on producing music from a variety of genres including pop, Latin, electronic, among others.

Wallen is currently is on the Can't Say I Ain't Country Tour alongside Florida Georgia Line, Dan + Shay, Canaan Smith, and Hardy. Later this fall, Wallen will support Luke Combs on his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour with  Cody Johnson, Ray Fulcher, Morgan Wallen, the Cadillac Three, Jameson Rodgers and Flatland Cavalry.
