Chris Stapleton may be the name on everyone's lips lately, thanks to two Grammy Awards, three CMA Awards and standout televised performances at both awards shows. But after listening to his duet of "You Are My Sunshine" with wife Morgane, which will be featured on Dave Cobb's forthcoming concept album Southern Family, Morgane will no doubt be deserving some of the spotlight.

The six-minute track recently premiered on NPR Music, and the couple swap roles. While Morgane frequently provides harmonies at Stapleton's live performances, she takes the lead on "You Are My Sunshine." Her smooth vocals are complemented impeccably by Chris' gritty and soulful voice. While the couple starts the song together, it is Morgane who sings each verse on her own. In addition to their voices, an electric guitar interlude provides some extra edge.

"You Are My Sunshine" is one of several tracks featured on Southern Family, which pays tribute to family. It will be released on March 18 on Cobb's Low Country Sound record label. The album also features songs from Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert, Brandy Clark, John Paul White, the Black Crowes‘ Rich Robinson, Shooter Jennings, Anderson East and Holly Williams. Both Lambert and East have previously released their contributions to the album.

“Everybody has a great story, about their parents, their grandparents, brother, sister,” Cobb explains to Rolling Stone Country. “Everybody has an intimate story and it was something that everybody could relate to. I wanted to have really talented artists custom write and do songs that mean a lot to them, and also just make the song that maybe they wouldn’t put on their record: the deep song, or the song that doesn’t fit in the queue or wouldn’t be a single. I wanted them to do the most honest song they could possibly do.”
