Country newcomer Sam Hunt has just defied all the music business odds with his debut single, 'Leave the Night On.'

The lead single from his debut album, 'Montevallo,' landed at No. 1 on both the Billboard and MediaBase charts this week. The song, which he co-wrote with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, has also been certified Platinum for selling one million units.

Hunt previously scored two No. 1 hits as a writer with Kenny Chesney's 'Come Over' and Billy Currington's 'We Are Tonight.' He also co-wrote Keith Urban's recent Top 10 hit, 'Cop Car.'

'Leave the Night On' is his first No. 1 as an artist.

“I'm really excited that folks have connected to ‘Leave the Night On’ the way they have," Hunt says in a press release. "This past year has been a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what the future has to hold.”

Hunt is currently on the road with Kip Moore and Charlie Worsham on the CMT on Tour: Up in Smoke Tour. For a complete list of dates, click here.
