Taylor Swift Buys New House Near Kennedy Family
Summer is starting to wind down, but it looks like Taylor Swift isn't quite ready to say goodbye to days of lounging and sailing with her new boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, near the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass. Instead of parting ways for fall, 22-year-old Swift has decided to extend her stay by buying a new house across the street from the iconic American family.
Yes, you read that right. According to People, the 'Story of Us' hitmaker is about to become neighbors with her 18-year-old new boyfriend. While that may sound like a big leap and so soon, the pair have been inseparable recently -- and it's rumored that Taylor has been swept off her feet.
Media caught wind of the budding relationship when Swift was spotted sailing with the Kennedy clan on July 4th. Initially, rumors buzzed that the award-winning singer was pairing off with Patrick Schwarzenegger, but that turned out to be hearsay -- country music's sweetheart actually had her eye on the grandson of the late Robert F. Kennedy.
In the past six weeks, she has been spending loads of time in Massachusetts with her new beau and his family, and she even took Conor to Nashville last week to meet her parents and see what life in Music City is all about. But perhaps soon she'll pack her bags and head east to hew new home in Cape Cod?
People Magazine even spoke with a real estate agent in Hyannis, Mass., who insists that Swift purchased the property, which is reportedly a 13-room home that overlooks the Nantucket Sound. The house has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, and has been on the market for a hefty price tag of $14 million for the past few years. Not one to make a bad investment, Swift apparently scored a great deal by scooping up the estate for $4.9 million.
"It's in a beautiful location and right across the street from Conor and the Kennedys," the realtor said, according to People. "It's a beautiful home. She got a nice home, paid fair price. The house was on the market for two to four years."
Regardless of Swift's future with Kennedy, it sounds like she made a smart investment for both her financial and romantic future. Now she'll have an easier time figuring out if Conor Kennedy is really "the one."
