Chicago Gets Its Own Country Festival With Announcement of Windy City LakeShake
Chicago is going country! Live Nation Entertainment is launching Chicago's very first major country music festival this June with some big headliners.
The inaugural Windy City LakeShake is set for June 19-21 at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, and the starting lineup is just as exciting as the festival's background. Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley will perform in front of the city's skyline.
The full LakeShake lineup has not yet been announced, but what has, is impressive. Frankie Ballard, Easton Corbin, Clare Dunn, Mickey Guyton, Randy Houser, Maddie and Tae, Ashley Monroe, Kip Moore, Justin Moore, David Lee Murphy, Joe Nichols, Cassadee Pope, RaeLynn, Thomas Rhett and Canaan Smith will play at the kickoff event.
"Being a native Chicagoan, it has been a dream of mine to present a world class country music festival in my hometown," Brian O’Connell, President of Country Touring at Live Nation Entertainment, says. "The backdrop of the beautiful skyline of Chicago, and the coolness of being right on the lake shore will enhance the incredible artists we have lined up for year one. No one has more fun than Chicago's music fans, and I am sure that LakeShake will be one for the ages."
The festival will feature two stages, one of which will host up-and-coming artists. Tickets for the event are $199.50 for a three day pass, not including fees, and go on sale Feb. 2.
