Last summer Alan Jackson joined the Zac Brown Band on the chart topping hit 'As She's Walking Away.' Later this summer, it appears Zac Brown will return the favor. Jackson made a surprise appearance with Jeff Elliott's morning on WIRK in West Palm Beach, Fla. and revealed the song -- to be included on his upcoming album -- is a work in progress.

"When I was down here in the winter," he tells WIRK, "going from Jupiter down to Palm Beach, that Dixie Highway sign is always there. I’ve seen it a million times. For some reason it just stuck out to me that day and I ended up writing a song called ‘Dixie Highway.’ It’s pretty cool. Zac and I are both from Georgia and the south, and that’s kind of what it’s about. So he’s going to do that song with me.”

Amongst the other opinions and thoughts Jackson shared with the radio audience was that he's tried to shave his now famous mustache, only to have his wife complain about his smooth upper lip. He's also a fan of Lady Antebellum. In fact, he's a fan of the direction country music is heading in. "Everybody is always asking me questions about that ... it's always been that same debate about too country or too pop or blah, blah, blah. It's always been that way, from the '60s on up until today."

Jackson's current single 'Long Way to Go' also has South Florida roots. In fact, the singer frequents bars and beaches near West Palm Beach during his weeks off. This summer those are plentiful; there isn't another show on his tour schedule until a July 21 date in Toronto.
