Two Arby’s Employees Arrested + Charged With Felonies for the Craziest Reason
Arby's is known across America for having fresh roast beef sandwiches, always hot and on deck ready to go.
Their slogan is, "We have the meats," and two employees of Arby's challenged that theory of who, exactly, does have the meats.
Two Arby's Employees Arrested and Charged With Felonies for the Craziest Reason
This is the most insane story. It all went down at the Arby's in Williamsport, Pa., where two women came up with what they thought was the scheme of a lifetime.
In July 2023, the owner of said Arby's location called police after discovering a discrepancy in the roast beef log sheets over several months.
At first, she thought the roast beef was being measured improperly or it was being wasted. She later uncovered that two of her employees — Shaniyah Alyia West and Stephanie Davis — were slicing the beef and hiding it in a non-working oven before transferring it to the trash.
It was all part of what they thought was the perfect crime. Manager Kevin Morrison told police that during one shift, he watched as West and Davis sliced a large amount of beef that was then thrown out at the end of the evening.
However, West seemed eager to take out the trash, he explained. After she had taken the bags out, Morrison looked through them and found that the extra roast beef was gone.
This is where it takes an even bigger turn. Investigators say West and Davis had been taking the bagged roast beef from the garbage bags at the end of their shifts for months, resulting in a loss of $2,800 in roast beef.
It was rumored that the two were selling the roast beef from their garages at their respective homes.
They also discovered through surveillance video that the pair had taken 143 drinks, 16 food items and 49 "other" things. Their alleged theft totaled $3,495.
At the end of the day, it looks like Arby's actually didn't have the meats ... but they found where the meats went, and gave the criminals the meat sweats as they await their court date on charges of felony theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
