Blake Shelton took home two of the top prizes at the 2017 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night (Jan. 18).

After a performance of his new single, "Every Time I Hear That Song," Shelton picked up two of the night's awards he was nominated for, Favorite Male Country Artist and the all-genre Favorite Album, marking the first time ever a country artist has taken home the Favorite Album prize. He beat out some of music's biggest acts for the coveted accolade, including Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Beyonce. He beat Sam Hunt, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw for Favorite Male Country Artist.

"Wow, I love you too," Shelton said to a fan in the crowd after scooping up his two trophies, thanking voters, his team at Warner Nashville and "the hottest date here tonight," that being his girlfriend and fellow The Voice coach Gwen Stefani. He also joked that he's sure there's someone out there surprised by his big album win, presuming that his album is full of country music stereotypes like "drinkin' and cheatin.'"

"To that person I say, you're damn right it is," Shelton said to cheers from the crowd.

"Every Time I Hear That Song" marks the fifth release from Shelton's No. 1 album, If I'm Honest, which topped the country album charts in 2016 and became the year's top-selling country album. His big wins at the People's Choice Awards kick off an exciting 2017, which includes his Doin' It to Country Songs Tour that crosses the U.S. throughout the first half of the year. The tour features RaeLynn and Sundance Head as his support acts. Shelton returns to the coaching chair for season 12 of The Voice on Feb. 27.
