Brett Young’s Country LakeShake Set Soundtracked This Country Couple’s Proposal [Watch]
Country crooner Brett Young knows how to bring on the romance in his songs, and that romance inspired one Country LakeShake Festival attendee to ask his girlfriend for her hand in marriage during the country star's set at the Chicago festival!
“Talk about a summer,” writers Lauren Norberg, a teacher, on her Twitter page, sharing a video of her now-fiance's romantic proposal, which had the fans around them applauding. According to her tweet, her boyfriend dropped to a knee during Young's song "In Case You Didn't Know" and said, "In case you didn’t know I want to marry you, will you marry me?'”
The sweet proposal was one of the many special moments to take place both onstage and off during the three-day music festival, which was set on the shores of Lake Michigan at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. On Saturday (June 23), Young was a featured performer on a sunny day and delightful night that also included electric sets from artists including Morgan Evans, Midland and headliner Keith Urban.
Other emotional highlights of the weekend included Friday’s (June 21) all-female lineup, which featured Miranda Lambert, Cassadee Pope, Lauren Alaina, the Pistol Annies, Maren Morris and Lindsay Ell coming together onstage for a moving rendition of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” The weekend also brought the Sunday (June 23) return of Granger Smith to the stage following the recent death of his 3-year-old son, River. Smith paid tribute to River with a heart-wrenching rendition of "Heaven Bound Ballons."
