Brian Davis is gearing up for the release of a new album, and during a visit to the Taste of Country Nights studio, he revealed why he chose the release date he did.

Davis — a recent Brantley Gilbert tour opener — is a busy man. In addition to releasing his album, he'll be hitting the road for some shows, where he'll be giving fans a taste of his new tunes.

“[We're] Going out, it’s acoustic and it’s called Stripped Down and Turned Up," the singer says the of the low-key tour. "It’s what we kinda roll with. Actually the new record that we’re putting together right now is called Stripped Down and Turned Up so you’re hearing it first.”

The album release date is personally special to Davis.

“Jan. 27 which is actually my birthday, so we’re gonna release it on my birthday," he says.  It will be the perfect present for him, and as he says, "I'm hoping for everybody else, too."

Davis' Stripped Down and Turned Up will be available across digital outlets. If you love the new album so much, you can check out the rising star on tour. He's back on the road starting Jan. 28 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
