By now, everyone knows that Carrie Underwood—like many of us—has some scars. The singer suffered a terrible fall last November, which resulted in facial injury and a number of stitches. She was hesitant to share photos of the scarring for some time, but now it appears she feels no more need to hide.

In a throwback selfie posted Friday (Oct. 5), Underwood's scar above her upper lip is very clearly visible. The shot is from the filming of her video "Love Wins," which was released in September. (The scar is not visible in the clip.)

6 Carrie Underwood Facts That Will Blow Your Mind!

Underwood has shared photos of herself in which her scars have been visible (such as this one from August), but this is arguably the clearest yet.

Fans largely applauded her photo, with many saying she is an inspiration for those who have their own prominent scars.

"As a mom who is raising a daughter with a scar on the bridge of her nose, I applaud your courage," one wrote. "Keep on showing that life happens and we can still move on," approved another.

While the 35-year-old star—who is expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher—may have felt self-conscious about the scars at first, she has since gotten some perception regarding her appearance.

As she told Redbook in August: "Any time someone gets injured, it looks pretty bad in the beginning, and you’re like, ‘What is this going to wind up like?’ You just don’t know,” she continued. “It was also a perception thing, because I look at myself [now] and I see it quite a bit, but other people are like, ‘I wouldn’t have even noticed.'”
