Carrie Underwood Debuts New Song at ACM Salute the Troops Event
Country superstar Carrie Underwood had everybody buzzing after the ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops event Monday (April 7), where she debuted a new song.
The singer, along with Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Shane McAnally penned the song 'Keep Us Safe' for the event, which showcased members of the U.S. military onstage alongside country superstars. 'Keep Us Safe' is a faith-driven ballad with touching lyrics. Underwood sang, “Oh God, keep us safe on our way / Keep our eyes on the heavens.”
Wearing a breathtaking gown adorned with a tulle skirt and scrolling silver embellishments, Underwood looked as good as her voice sounded. Although she is working on a new album, it's unclear of 'Keep Us Safe' will appear on her upcoming record.
Other performers at the event included Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Kellie Pickler, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line and the Band Perry. The full tribute will air on CBS May 20 at 9PM ET.
