Carrie Underwood Celebrates Her Parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary
Carrie Underwood currently has a lot on her plate. The superstar suffered a fall at home in November that required 40-50 stitches to her face; which spiraled into intense speculation on her post-accident appearance, and culminated when she performed her new single, "Cry Pretty," at the 2018 ACM Awards. Despite all this distraction, the singer is able to keep her focus on the things that really matter.
One such thing? Her parents, Carole and Steve, just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Underwood shared sweet photos of her mom and dad on her social media Saturday (April 21), noting "The good Lord sure did bless them...and us!"
The shots also gave a glimpse at what looked like a nice party for the 50-years-strong pair, including a display of framed family photos, a special platter emblazoned with their names, and a beautiful gold-and-white cake (complete with a particularly cute photo of Dad dabbing some frosting off Mom's mouth with a napkin).
Underwood noted that they enjoyed hearing stories of her parents' first years together on their special day, and added, "I think these crazy kids are going to make it." What a great track record, so far!
Underwood is the youngest of three daughters and was raised by her parents on their farm in rural Checotah, Okla. She is poised to release a new album, also titled Cry Pretty, on Sept. 14.
