Carter Winter’s ‘Skylines’ Music Video Introduces a Natural-Born Country Artist
Country newcomer Carter Winter has debuted the music video for his single "Skylines." Winter's vocals are the stuff that male classic country greats are made of: the country twang, deep register and ability to pull you in with raw emotion.
Both the song "Skylines" and its music video tell the story of a woman who grew up in the country and longs to move to the city to experience a different kind of lifestyle. Winter's vocals, combined with his lyricism, bring a traditional country vibe, while still being able to reflect current trends.
"She's in love with a city she's never been / Seein' all these pretty pictures bein' / Posted up by friends / Stays wide awake dreamin' now at 2AM / Sayin', 'One day I'll be there,'" sings Winter. "She ain't ever left home, she wants to / Steady makin' up her mind what she gone do / It's on you if you can't understand / Why she needs to go ..."
An Ohio native, Winter began his country music career on social media, posting both covers of country classics and original tunes. He has consistently toured for the past few years both, both as a headliner and a support act. He released his album Temptations in November of 2018, even gaining the No. 2 spot on the iTunes Country chart, behind Miranda Lambert.
Winter has played with a number of major artists, including, most recently, a sold-out concert with Thomas Rhett, the Cadillac Three and the Swon Brothers. He will be touring the United States throughout this spring into early summer.
