Colt Ford, it turns out, has a lot of friends in a lot of different places. One day he's playing golf with Justin Timberlake, the next he’s bringing in buddy Rashad Evans, a mixed martial arts world champion, to star in his music video.

Ford says his most recent video for "Reload" was the writer's vision, but having Evans star was all him.

"When the guy who wrote the treatment said 'this is what we’re gonna do,' I said, 'what if I got you world-champion Rashad Evans?'" he tells Taste of Country Nights with a laugh. "He couldn’t believe it, and I was like, 'well, he said he was in.'"

The song is a testament to getting back up after being knocked down, so an MMA fight is a fitting metaphor. The track features the gritty but powerful vocals of Taylor Ray Holbrook and is featured on Ford's new record, Love Hope Faith, now available.

Ford also let Taste of Country in on a few details from his experiences with other famous acquaintances, including Bill Murray’s golfing exploits and Brantley Gilbert's fascination with deer genetics. Check out the full interview with Ford below.

Love Hope Faith, Ford’s sixth studio album, officially dropped May 5 and also includes his single "4 Lane Gone." Ford was also recently featured on a tune by Moonshine Bandits titled "Dad’s Pontoon." He's currently on the Love Hope Faith tour, which runs through September.
