Dolly Parton Raps on ‘The Queen Latifah Show’
Dolly Parton is a woman of many talents. But did you know she can rap? The country music treasure proved her rap prowess and demonstrated her skills in another genre in this preview clip from her upcoming appearance on 'The Queen Latifah Show.'
Parton, who was introduced by the host as coming straight outta the 'Ville --as in "Nashville"-- twerked, a fad popularized by her goddaughter Miley Cyrus. She also showed off a massive hairstyle.
Parton penned the rap track specifically for her appearance on the show. So it was a custom rap, designed expressly for Latifah and her audience.
The singer was clearly having a good time, even as she boasted about being the Queen of Dollywood and about working her, uh, assets. She even giggled a few times, mid-rap.
She referenced current Southern pop culture figures, like Honey Boo Boo, the folks of 'Duck Dynasty' and more. She also joked about Cyrus and threw a few good-natured jabs at Latifah, who was clearly loving every minute of it. Parton's rap "disses" were all in good fun.
Parton, with her big, frizzy hair, looked in tip-top shape, too. Her performance was incredibly entertaining and she was infinitely cute.
Parton's episode airs this coming Monday, Oct. 21 on CBS. Check your local listings.
