Garth Brooks Teams With Target for Career-Spanning Box Set
Garth Brooks has partnered with retail giant Target to release an exclusive 10-CD box set titled Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection.
The career-spanning set will be released on Nov. 11, prior to the release of Brooks' next studio album. The Ultimate Collection will include an exclusive version of the new album that features Target bonus tracks, and nine additional discs of music chosen from Brooks' catalog. The tracks will be remastered in thematic playlists and include a selection of previously unreleased songs.
"Target has always been a friend to artists and their music. I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to be partnering with them,” Brooks says in a press release. “This holiday season is going to be amazing with a new album, plus a boxed set with never-before-released music from the vault and music you can’t hear or get anywhere else."
"Simply put, Garth is in a league of his own. He is unquestionably one of the most accomplished and celebrated musicians, with a fan base that spans all ages and genres,” adds Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Target. “We’re thrilled to welcome Garth into the Target family, and are confident that the boxed set we’ve created with him, which we’ll offer for an unbeatable value, will be at the top of many wish lists this holiday season."
Brooks is currently at work on his as-yet-untitled forthcoming studio album, for which no title or track listing have emerged. He is sharing the recording process with fans via his Facebook series, Inside Studio G, where he recently revealed two new songs, “Live Again” and “Lay Down and Dance.”
In August of 2016 Brooks announced that he had departed Sony after just one album, 2014's Man Against Machine. He will release his next studio album via his own Pearl Records, which will also release the Christmas album he recorded with his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
Track lists, pricing and pre-sale information for Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection are to be announced.
