George Strait has announced a one-off show with some very special guests at Foxboro, Mass. Gillette Stadium on August 17.

Special guests for the show include Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, and Caitlyn Smith.

Strait announced the stadium show on his Instagram on Tuesday (March 19) in an unconventional manner—a skit.

The video starts off with Shelton asking, "So wait a minute, what are we filming again today?" The camera man replies that he's doing a promo for his upcoming shows with Strait. Shelton looked puzzled, "George Strait? George Strait's retired. Are you sure? That's not possible. He retired. He made a huge announcement. He said, 'I am retiring, I am not going to tour anymore.' So..."

The video then pans to Strait, who says, "Yeah, I don't know where that came from. I guess when I said I wasn't going to tour anymore that they thought maybe I was retiring, but that was never my intention."

The video cuts back to Shelton saying, "If I was doing a show with George Strait, trust me I would know about it. I dream of things like that."

Strait is asked about Shelton's hosting gig on NBC's hit show The Voice, "The Voice? Nah don't watch it."

Conversely, Shelton dotes on Strait saying, "For me personally George Strait, he pretty much set the bar in every way you can with great songs, great signing, a classy guy..."

With that, Strait remembers then he knows of The Voice's Adam Levine—who is, of course, Shelton's main rival on the show—even going so far to say that that he is entertaining and likes him.

Tickets for the August 17 show go on sale Friday, March 29 at 10AM EST.
