Jimmy Kimmel to Help Garth Brooks Kick Off Dive Bar Tour in Chicago
Garth Brooks kicks off his seven-city Dive Bar Tour in Chicago on July 15, and it looks like the country music icon will get an assist from TV personalty Jimmy Kimmel.
Brooks, who is in the midst of his massive three-year Stadium Tour, recently announced he'll be playing companion dates at seven "dive bars," which are yet to be announced besides the mid-July date at Joe's on Weed Street in Chicago (the other tour dates are expected to be announced on July 15).
The Dive Bar Tour is an extra promotion for Brooks' new single "Dive Bar" with fellow country star Blake Shelton.

This tune marks the first time in 18 years that Brooks has called on a fellow country star to join him in a song. The last was "Beer Run" with George Jones in 2001.
Brooks had this to say about the tour on a recent Facebook Live, “Sometimes, man, [a dive bar is] your church. A church is people who are like you that are searching, and sometimes you need a shoulder to lean on. That’s what a dive bar is. That’s what a good one is anyway. We’re gonna go to seven of them. It’s gotta be Chicago.”
Brooks then tweeted to Kimmel on July 8: "I think you should DIVE in on this! Want to help me kickoff the #DiveBarTour July 15 in Chicago?" to which Kimmel tweeted back, "You bet your giant hat I do!"
Since then, The Oklahoman reported that Kimmel's "help" will be Jimmy Kimmel Live! airing Brooks' performance of “Dive Bar” live from the Chicago show on July 15. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs at weekdays at 11:35PM ET on ABC.
