Jose Canseco Asks Shania Twain to Marry Him

Shania Twain is happily married, but that didn’t slow down former Major League Baseball slugger Jose Canseco's roll. Nine days after ending one engagement, the 50-year-old was on bended Twitter-knee proposing to the country superstar.

Several sites, including Bleacher Report, grabbed pictures of two tweets before they were removed by the Bash Brother. “@ShaniaTwain want to get married,” Canseco begins in one. “We were supposed to meet when I played for the blue jays (sic) in 1998.”

Twain did not comment, perhaps because it takes more than one failed meeting from 16 years ago to woo her, or perhaps because she’s married to Frederic Thiebaud and has been since 2011.

A few minutes before proposing, Canseco tweeted his loneliness. “Already tired of being single looking to get married asap,” he wrote.

The disgraced Major Leaguer was engaged to model Leila Knight until a few days before Thanksgiving. They called it off, and it appears to have been less than amicable. “My ex just threatened to kill me and my mom over and over and over and the cops came over,” Knight tweeted. “Can't wait to hear all the lies on his end.”

Canseco indicated that Knight was lying and challenged her to a polygraph.
