Julianne Hough Dishes On Style: ‘I Mix Patterns and Wear Socks With Sandals’

While Julianne Hough is known for her sexy moves, her charming personality, her vocal talent and her sense of fashion and style, the 23-year-old actress and singer admits that this wasn't always the case when she was younger.

"All the style advice I got when I was younger was terrible," Hough reveals in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan. "It was always, 'Don't ever put prints with something striped' or 'Don't wear socks with sandals.' So now I've completely reversed all that advice, and I do what's in style now, which is mixing patterns and wearing socks with sandals!"

In the magazine, Hough is decked out in plenty of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which has her reminiscent of some of her memories of pink as a child.

"I was into climbing trees and playing sports as a kid, so I liked to be in the boys' club," she says. "But at the same time, I liked to wear makeup and dresses and hang out in my pink Barbie car!"

Hough has come a long way since climbing those trees. She is currently featured in the new remake of 'Footloose,' and she will also star alongside Tom Cruise in the upcoming movie 'Rock of Ages.'
