Kacey Musgraves will join Harry Styles on the road beginning in June, for the former One Direction member's headlining tour. The country singer is cautiously excited, telling legend Elton John during an interview on his Apple Music Rocket Hour show that she loves supportive outreach and blending genre lines.

"That's a strange billing, but it's a great billing I think because his music and your music will appeal to the same people. I love things like that," John notes, assuring her: "He's a sweetheart and he's a really fabulous guy."

Styles approached Musgraves directly to invite her on his Live on Tour trek, which kicks off on June 5 in Dallas. She says she's expecting it to be interesting.

"I think it's going to be an interesting but really fun time," Musgraves shares. "With the direction that his new record just went and the way that mine has gone, I think that it will really work. I just appreciate when anyone wants to support other genres."

Musgraves visited John's countryside home for their intimate chat while she was over the pond recently to perform. The Texas native now lives in Nashville, but she's getting a lot of love from the U.K. — she's noticed how music fans there have attacher to her music in particular.

"It's amazing to see the love for country music over here," she marvels. "I think they know now that there are other things I want to talk about than just trucks, beer. Just life."

Musgraves released a new album called Golden Hour on March 30 and has released a handful of songs digitally, but this week debuted an official music video for "Space Cowboy." The country singer-songwriter will further expand her audience when she appears as the invited musical guest on Saturday Night Live on May 12.
