Kacey Musgraves really changed her tune for her "Rainbow" lyrics. The song finds the onetime cynic offering a ray of light.

Musgraves was one of the early winners in the 2019 Grammy Awards during the non-televised portion of the show on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 10). She took home Country Song of the Year for "Space Cowboy" and Best Country Solo Performance for "Butterflies." But it was her gentle, lilting performance of her new single, "Rainbow," that garnered the most attention for its simple, elegant beauty.

"Rainbow" is Musgraves' latest single from her critically acclaimed third studio album, Golden Hour. The album was nominated for Best Country Album and in the all-genre category of Album of the Year in the 2019 Grammy Awards. Her soft, voice floats over the song's gentle piano chords effortlessly, creating a reflective framework that draws the listener in and forces them to listen to the lyrics.

Kacey Musgraves' "Rainbow" Lyrics:

When it rains it pours, but you didn't even notice / It ain't rainin' anymore, it's hard to breathe when all we know is / The struggle of staying above, the rising water line

Chorus:
Well the sky is finally open, the rain and wind stopped blowin' / But you're stuck out in the same old storm again / You hold tight to your umbrella, darlin' I'm just tryin' to tell ya / That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head

If you could see what I see, you'd be blinded by the colors / Yellow, red and orange and green, and at least a million others / So tie up your bow, take off your coat and take a look around

Oh tie up your bow, take off your coat and take a look around
Everything is alright now

Repeat Chorus
